MESSAGE

I am truly pleased to welcome you to the PSU website which showcases the modest achievements of the University and its nine component campuses. As we continue to chase after our vision of becoming a premiere state university in the ASEAN region, it is inevitable to seek international recognition through accreditation and global university rankings. To date, we take on another journey towards excellence, the QS Stars Rating System.

QS Stars is a rating system that provides a detailed look at an institution which enables the identification of the institution’s performance in specific programs like program strength, learning and development, facilities, graduate employability, social responsibility and inclusiveness among others.

In the PSU Strategic Development Plan of 2021- 2025, we have set as one of our strategic goals the attainment of a QS star rating , along with the key strategic goals namely, Excellent Student Learning and Development, Strong Research Culture and Technology Transfer, Good Governance, Sustainable Social Responsiveness, Globalization and Diversity  and Customer Focus. I am happy to inform you that we have rated well in the strategic goals we have set as demonstrated by the balance score card of the annual performance reviews. The records showing very satisfactory ratings in the various key result areas indicate that indeed PSU is doing its job as a premier educational institution.

This is demonstrated by the  following milestones: outstanding student performance in various licensure examinations  which have yielded board topnotchers, accreditation to higher levels of  many of our programs, one of only 20  SUCs which garnered the Level IV status,  first state university in the Philippines and in Asia to be granted  Gold award by the Investors in People, ISO re-certification , the first and only Higher education in the country to receive the most coveted Philippine Quality Award level III in PQA or Mastery  in quality Management  , grant of Center of Excellence for Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and Bachelor of Science in Fisheries. It is also worth noting that we rated high in the Institutional Sustainability assessment conducted by Ched in 2018.

Indeed, I am short of words to express my heartfelt gratitude for these milestones. Nevertheless, I extend my sincerest gratitude to our people – the PSU Family, the teams that serve as workhorse for every accreditation and other quality assurance visits ensuring that the University will not only pass but will pass with flying colors.

As you browse through the various menus and pages of our website, we hope you will see and experience the transformation  that our University has undertaken – from the traditional conservative  school with old classrooms and laboratories  to a more  modern progressive University, with state of the art facilities manned by  competent human resource supported by  technologically driven infrastructure and most importantly the presence of  a warm and healthy campus climate and a positive learning environment conducive to students’ growth and development.
