A festive atmosphere blanketed Lingayen town in the province of Pangasinan today as 3,000 energetic student-athletes marched their way through the main thoroughfares of the Capital town for the biggest sports and cultural event of the season – – the 2022 State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA-1).

The Grand Parade further illuminated the show of force, camaraderie and unity of the six participating SUCs in Region I which include the 𝑫𝒐𝒏 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒐 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒐𝒔 𝑴𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 (𝑫𝑴𝑴𝑴𝑺𝑼) ‘𝑺𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓𝒔’, 𝑰𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒐𝒔 𝑺𝒖𝒓 𝑷𝒐𝒍𝒚𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒏𝒊𝒄 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆 (𝑰𝑺𝑷𝑺𝑪) ‘𝑷𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒔’, 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒐 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒐𝒔 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 (𝑴𝑴𝑺𝑼) ‘𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔’, 𝑵𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉 𝑳𝒖𝒛𝒐𝒏 𝑷𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆 (𝑵𝑳𝑷𝑺𝑪) ‘𝑻𝒊𝒈𝒆𝒓𝒔’, 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑵𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒏 𝑷𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔 (𝑼𝑵𝑷) ‘𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒔’ 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒏 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 (𝑷𝑺𝑼) ‘𝑮𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒆𝒏 𝑳𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔.’

With assembly at the PSU grounds, parade marshals, accompanied by the University of Luzon Drum and Bugle Corps, led the delegates as they traversed through the Capitol compound, Maramba Boulevard and Plaza going to the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center that served as the event venue.

Clad in their sports uniforms, the joyous crowd of paraders waved their banners and balloons as they were met with cheers and applause.

PSU, as the host institution, ensured the security and safety of the delegates during the entire parade with police escorts, barangay officials, fire trucks and ambulances on standby.
