Five PSUnian researchers and two farmers were sent by Pangasinan State University to Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) for training on alcohol production on November 10-11.

Said delegates were given training on utilizing and maintaining the MMSU 850-Lit Village Scale Reflux Distiller (M850 VSRD) – apparatus developed by MMSU that is used to separate the alcohol from the extract.

The Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension and Innovation has been working on producing ethanol from Nipa tree for it is abundant in Pangasinan. Moreover, said office hopes to distribute the finished product next year after the increasing demand on alcohol caused by the Covid19 outbreak.
