Valentine’s Day is a reminder of God’s gift of love for mankind. Hence, Valentines is not only for couples but a love for everyone in all forms, may it be family, friends, workmates or classmates.
In celebration of God’s love, the Pangasinan State University, through the Public Relations, Publication and Information Office (PRPIO), organized a Post-Valentines Lunch Date for its students.

A post on PSU’s official Facebook page on February 3 enjoined students to comment on the query: ‘What Do you Love Most about PSU?’

Out of 236 comments, the six best were selected and the ‘winning’ students were informed of the good news. They are Lorenz Ablanza of Lingayen Campus, Bernadeth Meru of Infanta Campus, Fern Cauton of School of Advanced Studies, Michaela Malanum of Bayambang Campus, and Maria Elena Chan and April Joy Rosario of Binmaley Campus.

On March 3, the lucky students were brought to PSU’s Golden Lion Hotel in Lingayen town, accompanied by their respective PRPIO Campus Coordinators to meet their ‘dates’. They were ecstatic for the chance to meet the officials of the university up close and personal.
The students were welcomed by their ‘dates’ – – University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas and the five Vice Presidents: Dr. Dexter R. Buted for Administration and Linkages, Dr. Maria Corazon B. Puzon for Planning and Finance, Dr. Manolito C. Manuel for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. Marcelo C. Gutierrez Jr., for Quality Assurance and Dr. Razeale G. Resultay for Research, Extension, Innovation and Gender and Development.

Over a hearty lunch at the Jowtoo Restaurant of the GLH, exchange of ideas and giving of life lessons were some of the topics enjoyed by the students.

“My heart is overflowing with joy. We are very lucky dahil aside from PSU is giving quality education, nakikita namin yung effort ng administration na magreach –out sila na alamin yung mga needs ng mga estudyante at meron pang ganitong lunch date with them. Medyo nakaka star-struck,” Michaela Malanum of Bayambang Campus said.

“PSU does not discriminate and always welcomes students who wish to go back to schooling. I’m lucky to be chosen because this lunch date is unforgettable,” said Maria Elena Chan of Binmaley Campus
Pangasinan State University, in its pursuit for excellence, brings government closer to the people and ensures the love and appreciation to its number one clientele – – the students.
