The Pangasinan State University visited West Java, Indonesia in pursuit of unlocking more opportunities for growth and development in the field of Research.
PSU Vice-President for Research and Extension, Dr Paulo V. Cenas, together with Engr. Rex T. Basuel (head of MATIC Center) and Engr. Quincy Jones B. Bundal (head of Salt Technology and Innovation Center) travelled to the said ASEAN country to present the institution’s research gains on Salt Technology as well as benchmark Indonesia’s salt industry.
They met with the officials of the Ministry of Marine Resources and Fisheries led by its Director, Mohamad Zaki Mahasin, A.Pi, M.Si
The PSU team also conducted field visits on Indonesia’s salt farms to include the Tunnel Technology, High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) technology, government -funded salt processing plants operated by a community-based association and the salt training centers.
PSU, as an ASEAN Premier State University, seeks to ignite the wheel of innovation that will revive the salt production and transform it into a 21st century industry. The University also undertakes the organization of the First Philippine Salt Congress in the latter part of the year.
