The Regional Bantay ASIN Task Force (RBATF-1) has convened its members to take part in a Planning Workshop to formulate its operational plan for 2022-2025, today June 27 in La Union province.
Pangasinan State University’s Vice-President for Research, Extension and Innovation, Dr. Paulo V. Cenas was tapped to present the Proposed Inclusion of Salt as a Strategic Commodity of Region I in the said workshop which was earlier introduced during the Economic and Development Sectoral Committee.
Other topics presented in the workshop include: Salt Iodization Situation in Region 1, Roles of Regional Line Agencies in Salt Iodization and the NSIP strategic plan (2017-2022).
The said workshop was spearheaded by the Department of Health-Center for Health Development, National Nutrition Council-1 and the Food and Drug Administration -1

To ignite the wheel of innovation that will revive the salt production and transform it into a 21st century industry, PSU undertakes the organization of the very first Philippine Salt Congress which will commence on September 2022.
