Lingayen Campus had launched a rapid response to help support grassroots community who belongs to the Indigenous Peoples group in time of this pandemic.
Spearheaded by the PSU-Extension Unit through Mr. Jandy Cacapit, Head and Dr. Nova Arquillano, the campus with JCI Lingayen Liberation II and National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP), conducted projects to help the Kankanaey and Ibaloi communities from Mapita, Aguilar last August 25.
Said projects include turning over of farm equipment (SDR hose and power sprayer), distribution of facemask, books and slippers, and tree planting activity.
This initiative was an offshoot of Arquillano’s research entitled “Kankanaey and Ibaloi communities and Local Government partnership for local level farming adaptation priorities for resiliency and food security”, which deeply concerns on helping IP communities in Pangasinan thru local farming.
