The Pangasinan State University unified with international leaders in their mission to provide solutions to the challenges brought about by climate change as it participated in the 3rd Global Changemakers Summit held in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The PSU team traveled to the Capital City of Bangladesh on January 24 to convene with the group of international delegates including government officials, ambassadors, and academicians to share ideas pertaining to climate change.
The Summit, themed as “Innovation, Education and Leadership for Climate Action,” also aimed to recognize individuals and organizations who are working to mitigate the impacts of climate change and promote sustainable development.
The event was spearheaded by the Project 100 India in partnership with Human Harmony Nepal and H&H International Foundation Bangladesh.
Among the 35 international awardees, the Pangasinan State University was one of those which received the Global Changemakers Award for its outstanding leadership and commitment in the field of education.
PSU was awarded specifically for its works on mangrove rehabilitation, livelihood trainings, and localization of climate change education.
PSU Faculty Ms. Analyn I. Diola who is also the Head for Solid Waste Management and Pollution Control Unit of the university, was also awarded as Global Changemaker where she served as one of the keynote speakers.
Ms. Diola shared the gist of her two researches entitled Experiences of PSU Asingan Campus in Enabling Communities after the Pandemic” and the “Development of Big Books using Mother Tongue-based Multi-lingual Education on Climate Change and Disaster Response”, to the
international audience.
PSU, guided by its core values on Social and Environmental responsiveness is primed to contribute to community innovation, sustainability, and development.
