Giving utmost support to the 2023 Women’s Month Celebration, Pangasinan State University through the Gender and Development (GAD) Unit of the Research, Extension and Innovation Division, launched the PSU-GAD ‘TikTalk’ Lecture Series on March 1, 2023.

PSU-GAD Director and Chair of the Technical Working Group Dr. Romary R. Lincod enjoined all PSUnians to be advocates of Gender and Development and take part not only in the month-long celebration but in all endeavors of GAD all year round.

“As what the Philippine Commission on Women said, we begin this era of the national women’s month with the hope and ambition that we are all for gender equality, we are all for inclusive society,” Dr. Lincod said.

The first of the month-long webinar lecture series focused on Raising Awareness on Gender Equality with PSU Planning Director Dr. Madlyn Tingco serving as the keynote speaker. Her talk centered on
the causes and importance of understanding gender equality as well as its promotion and gains.

“Because we are bestowed with equal rights as equal citizens, women and men must have access to the same opportunities, authority, choices, knowledge and talents,” Dr. Tingco said.

The event was formally closed by the Director for Human Resource Management and Development Office, Dr. Lorena B. Echalar who invited PSUnians to take part in the webinar series in all Wednesdays of March.

Pangasinan State University, in response to globalization and diversity , stands as a staunch advocate of gender and development and will continue to spread awareness and promote equality within and beyond the institution.
