The Extension Services Office (ESO) under the Research, Extension and Innovation (REI) Division hosted the 2021 University Community Extension (ComEx) Symposium. This is the second staging of this event which was initiated by the current ESO Director, Prof. Francis Albert T. Argente and REI Vice President, Dr. Paulo V. Cenas with the support of the University President, Dr. Dexter R. Buted. The symposium served as an avenue for the university’s extension professionals to disseminate their outputs and learning experiences to a virtual audience.
A total of 65 registered participants from PSU and other institutions joined the virtual event. The symposium highlighted 13 competing and non-competing ComEx paper presentations from various campuses of PSU. Seasoned extension professionals, Prof. Josephine T. Firmase (University of the Philippines Visayas), Dr. Melba L. Manapol (Ateneo de Davao University) and Dr. Flora V. Javier (Lyceum of the Philippines University) served as panel of evaluators during paper presentations.
Dr. Razeale G. Resultay of PSU-Bayambang Campus bagged 1st place in the best paper competition with her ComEx paper entitled: “Bayambang Community-Based Literacy (BCBL) Program.” ComEx papers from PSU-Urdaneta Campus entitled: “Adopt-A-Church Program” by Arch. Simeon Rico, Jr. and “Early Childhood Intervention cum Wellness Literacy” by Dr. Erwin O. Estrella won 2nd and 3rd place, respectively. Winners will receive certificates of recognition and modest cash prices.
