The Pangasinan State University laid out its red carpet once again to honor and recognize exemplary students in its annual ceremony dubbed “Gawad Parangal para sa mga Natatanging Mag-aaral 2022” at the Dr. Telesforo N. Boquiren Convention Hall on August 26, 2022.

Bannering the theme: “Galing at Tapat na Serbisyo ng PSUnian: Pinanday at Pinagtibay ng Mapaghamong Panahon”, the University acknowledges outstanding students who exemplify the ideal attributes of a true PSUnian showing excellence in academics and remarkable commitment to school involvement, community development, and nation-building taking pride in its time-enduring legacy.

Lingayen Campus rejoiced as they celebrated the comeback of their campus in winning the Gawad Parangal Award after the title was held by Bayambang Campus for three consecutive years.

Brisha Eryka Faye Recto, a fourth-year Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Filipino student of Lingayen Campus triumphed over the screening procedures and won the coveted title.

Recto related her endeavor towards realizing her goals in life, along with all the hardships and setbacks she overcame while completing her education.

Recto gave a heartfelt farewell speech in which she offered her success to the other Gawad Parangal Finalists and to every student fighting hard to finish school. She urged them to never give up on their aspirations or their goals.

The equally impressive Gawad Parangal finalists across the nine (9) campuses were: Jessa Marie Cabalbag (Alaminos City Campus), Maria Ronalyn L. Nona (Asingan Campus), John Darryl C. Malicdem (Bayambang Campus), Adriane C. Dela Cruz (Binmaley Campus), Russel M. Mose (Infanta Campus), Meryll C. Castro (San Carlos City Campus), Ariane L. Pader (Sta. Maria Campus) and Aljohn C. Tomelden (Urdaneta Campus).

The visionary and ever-inspiring University President, Dr. Dexter R. Buted, expressed his sincerest gratitude by saying, “labis ang aking pasasalamat dahil sa inyong pagpupunyaging ipinakita upang mabigyan ng karangalan ang ating Unibersidad.”

Buted added.

The “Pinakanatatanging Mag-aaral” fulfills a crucial function by personifying the Golden Lion Spirit of tenacity and bravery in the face of challenges and uncertainty and serving as an inspiration to the PSU community.
