The Pangasinan State University top management, led by the University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas, deliberated on and finalized the academic-related plans for 2023-2024 on April 28, 2023.
The agenda discussed include: (1) change and return to the pre-pandemic start of classes from September to August starting AY 2023-2024 (2) shortening of the middle term classes for AY 2022-2023 (3) graduation ceremonies on August 2023 for Batch 2023 (4) student quota per program per campus for first semester AY 2023-2024 (5) faculty needs for 1st semester AY 2023-2024 (6) policy on wearing of faculty and student uniform; and (7) Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) updates per campus ensuring 100% compliance for all programs.
These matters were aligned with the priority thrusts and vision of the new president’s administration.
The academic concerns, issues and plans were initially presented and discussed with the Council of Executive Directors by the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. Manolito C. Manuel on April 13, 2023.
These were correspondingly cascaded to their respective College Deans and Department Chair to solicit their inputs, suggestions, and specific concerns at the campus level.
The top management meeting was attended by Dr. Manolito C. Manuel- Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. Dexter R. Buted-Vice President for Administration and Linkages, Dr. Razeale G. Resultay- Vice President for Research, Extension, Innovation and Gender and Development, Dr. Ian D. Evangelista- Chief Administrative Officer, Dr. Lorena B. Echalar- Director for HRMDO, Ms. Jeanilyn Villanueva- Director for Budget and Dr. Weenalei T. Fajardo- Director for Curriculum and Instruction.
The results of the meeting shall be the bases for the implementation of the crafted intervention plans after securing the approval of CHED, CSC, COA and PSU Board of Regents.
The administration remains decisive and focused on its mandate to provide quality and relevant education for all.
