From the land of Pagsanjan Falls and buko pie, delegates of the Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU) paid a courtesy visit to the Pangasinan State University on February 15, 2023.
PSU President Dr. Elbert M. Galas welcomed the 11 delegates from Laguna at his office in the main campus where talks centered on the Philippine Quality Award , programs certified as Centers of Excellence, new instruments for SUC Level V attainment and other possible areas of partnership.

“The road leading to all these achievements was never easy. It took a lot of hard work and unity from all PSUnians. Our teamwork finally paid off with all the awards and recognitions, but we will not stop aiming for excellence and giving the best service,” Dr. Galas told the visiting group.

LSPU President Dr. Mario R. Briones, together with their Vice-President for Academic Affairs Dr. Eden Callao and Vice-President for Administration Engr. Beltran Pedrigal, their campus directors, deans and partners were also met by the former PSU President Dr. Dexter R. Buted who answered questions on professional development of staff and employee competencies.

Meanwhile, Lingayen Campus Executive Director Dr. Renato Salcedo toured the visitors to the PSU-owned Golden Lion Hotel, the five-storey income –generating project of PSU.

Gaining more grounds for agricultural expertise, the Laguna academicians travelled to PSU Binmaley Campus which is a Center for Excellence for its Fisheries program.

Dean Sotero Aban, along with unit heads and program focals, shared PSU-Binmaley’s best practices on research processes, promotion of agriculture course to the youth, pitching of products , freshwater technology and international linkages to the Laguna group.

In response, President Briones expressed his gratitude to PSU with the hope of partnerships and collaboration in the near future.

Pangasinan State University continues to welcome and accommodate universities and colleges for benchmarking activities to help in the development of tertiary education in the country.
